چکیده
Method A 76-year-old woman with the diagnostic suspicion of urinary lithiasis, was subjected to a CT scan with an unknown ICM. Forty-eight hours after the CT scan was carried out, she developed an erythema in both axillae, inframammary folds, cubital and popliteal fossae, such as gluteal and inguinal area, without systemic symptoms. She was treated with methylprednisolone and she began to improve one week later. The patient had no previous history of drug hypersensitivity and she had tolerated ICM six years before. She was referred to our Drug Allergy Unit for study, where epicutaneous and single-blind intravenous controlled challenge tests were performed.

Symmetrical drug-related intertriginous and flexural exanthema caused by valacyclovir.
Drug-related eruptions that appear only on intertriginous or flexural folds and in gluteal areas have recently been termed symmetrical drug-related intertriginous and flexural exanthema (SDRIFE). We report a case of a 56-year-old woman with acute erythematous rash in the intertriginous areas after treatment with the L-valine ester of acyclovir, valacyclovir. Oral-challenge tests resulted in ery...

BACKGROUND Baboon syndrome is a distinctive skin reaction in which the patient typically develops erythematous buttocks that appear similar to those of a baboon. The non-contact allergenic variant of baboon syndrome is also referred to as symmetrical drug-related intertriginous and flexural exanthema (SDRIFE). Zoledronic acid is a bisphosphonate that is used in patients with metastatic cancer t...
متن کاملSymmetrical drug-related intertriginous and flexural exanthema (SDRIFE): two atypical case reports
Background The symmetrical drug-related intertriginous and flexural exanthema (SDRIFE) is a delayed-type hypersensitivity drug reaction (HDR) that causes symmetrical erythematous lesions in flexural areas, including buttocks and groin, which arise following exposure to drugs, especially beta-lactams. The involvement of palms and soles is rare and, until now, it has only been described after exp...

It may also occur in the absence of previous drug exposure. RECENT ...
